Natural beauties of Mount KandelIn 2006 a project based on local interest and individual intitiatives was started aiming at strengthening the attractiveness of Mount Kandel for tourists and visitors in general. The guiding figure is witch " Kandela“ who kindly leads the visitors from place to place.
The project includes the presentation of different subjects on steles placed at the hiking paths of Mount Kandel. The information is given in German, English and French and in a plain and very descriptive manner.

We invite you to experience the world of Mount Kandel on a hiking tour around its top. By the information given in three languages and written on steles and by means of a brochure on vegetation zones you learn how enormous natural forces - that are still working today - created and shaped this mountainous region, how plants adapted to the extreme circumstances in such an altitude and how gravitation leads to a challenge of the elements.
Since autumn 2009, two new steles have been established in the local districts "Platte" and "Rohr" at the southern side of Mount Kandel. The steles inform you on farming in high mountainous regions in the past and today. They explain how natural forces could be wisely used and you learn about stories and myths regarding Mount Kandel.
